Jon Shone is a keyboard player, songwriter, arranger, and musical director with over ten years’ experience at the top level of the music industry.
Jon was the resident pianist and arranger for ITV’s X-Factor contestants. Following that he became the string arranger to Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Since then he has acted as musical director for a succession of stadium pop acts, including Bryan Adams, Michael Bublé, Marina and the Diamonds, and Olly Murs. He gave several masterclasses at ICMP before joining the faculty.
From 2011–2016, Jon toured extensively as Musical Director with the world’s biggest boyband, One Direction. Alongside his role as Musical Director, Jon was also an integral part of their live show playing some of the biggest venues across the world.
Jon also works as a consultant with various record labels, including Song BMG, Universal and Atlantic, on their Artist rostas. During 2018, Jon has spent most of his time working in Nashville with BMG on a new Country boyband, which will release in 2019.
