Singer, songwriter, producer, and session keys man, Oli Rockberger won a Full Tuition Scholarship to attend Boston’s renowned Berklee College of Music in 1999. He has since gone on to work with several big name artists, including Grammy Award-winners and platinum sellers.
Oli’s session career has seen him collaborate with Carly Simon, John Mayer, Steve Gadd, Common, Jesse Harris, Gloria Gaynor, Levon Helm, Randy Brecker, Nathan East, David Ryan Harris, Chris Dave and the Drumhedz, amongst many others.
He has appeared at prestigious festivals as a bandleader in his own right, including London Jazz Festival, Love Supreme, Rochester Jazz (US), and Brecon Jazz.
His third solo album, Old Habits, was described by London Jazz as a “monument to be relished in the border territory of jazz and pop”, and received regular rotation on the UK’s Jazz FM. He has also released three albums with his critically acclaimed electronic trio, Mister Barrington.
Oli's current work includes performances as a member of prodigious award-winning UK songstress Laura Mvula's touring band, with highlights to date including Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, Afropunk (NY), Jools Holland, and The Mercury Music Awards Show.
The fourth Oli Rockberger album, Sovereign, was released in October 2017 on the Whirlwind label to rave reviews. London's Evening Standard praised the polished and inventive nature of the record. Noting "There’s a warmth and knowingness to songs that tell of letting go and looking forward, sentiments buoyed by Rockberger’s tenor vocals, deft arrangements and dexterity on a range of keyboards."
Oli will be playing the Pizza Express Jazz Club (W1) on 14th November 2017 as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
