James Webb teaches on our Electronic Music Production course in Liverpool.

James is an Electronic Music Producer and DJ from Liverpool, working in a range of electronic genres and styles, predominantly Trance and Progressive House, but also Techno, House, Drum and Bass, and Ambient/Chillout.

Since a young age, James had an interest in music and performance and around 15 years ago he started to learn production and composition using Ableton Live. This exploration led to him studying an Audio Production degree.

Whilst studying, he released an EP on Bonzai Progressive, a label that had a huge influence on him early on in his electronic music journey. He cemented his knowledge and specialism further by completing his Master’s Degree in Electronic Music Composition.

James is currently working on a side project, composing and producing various sub-genres of Drum and Bass, using the opportunity to expand his knowledge in sound design and production techniques.

He enjoys exploring how elements from different genres have influenced other genres of music over the years, and how that can be used to develop new sounds and hybrids of genres. He also enjoys DJing, having both run a fortnightly Trance radio show, and compiling mixes that take the listener on a journey through different styles of music.
