Steve Turner | Music Production Tutor | ICMP London

With a passion for synths and electronic music, Steve Turner’s career has led him from writing and producing in the early years of house music, remixing singles for major top-selling artists. Alongside this, Steve has excelled in playing and programming on tours and broadcasts with a host of UK pop bands and artists.

Steve’s remix credits include Luther Vandross (‘Power of Love’), Michael Jackson (‘This Time Around’), and Mary J Blidge (‘Be Happy’). As a keyboard player, he has performed with The Sugababes, All Saints, Anastacia, Leona Lewis, Alesha Dixon, as well as working on four world tours with Kylie Minogue, where his skills as a synth programmer have really come into their own. He's played the piano for Jay-Z's live DVD, 'Kingdom Come', filmed at the RAH, London.

More recently, he's joined on stage Beverly Knight, Mica Paris, and Emeli Sandé as a keyboard player and programmer, as well as Pixie Lott, as MD.

He also composes string arrangements, recently featuring on 4 tracks from Jocelyn Brown's amazing album True Praises. His TV credits include live performances on The Tonight Show (Jay Leno), The Late Show (David Letterman), Later with Jools Holland, The Voice house band, and music for the RTÉ documentary 'The Irish Revolution'. Steve has also arranged strings and recorded soundscape on Kit Ryan’s film Property Of The State, Yaar Ivargal (film, dir. Balaji Sakthivel), and Penance (film, dir. Tom Collins).

Steve recently teamed up with producer Richard Erskine for an exciting and intriguing project creating an album of electro-ska production music for the label TPML. Recent world tours include Jeff Wayne's The War Of The Worlds, Clannad, and Jeff Lynne's ELO USA, Europe and UK '18/'19 tour, where he worked as a keyboard player and programmer.
