The ICMP’s Corporate Board (the Board) is the primary governing body of the institution, which is collectively responsible for overseeing the institution’s activities, determining its future direction and fostering an environment in which the institutional mission is achieved while safeguarding the interests of students and other key stakeholders.

Specifically, the Board approves the vision, mission and strategic plans of the institution; the appointment of the Chief Executive; the composition and terms of reference of each Committee in the Governance Framework; overall staffing and facilities plans; overall financial objectives and plans and the annual operating budgets. Importantly, the Corporate Board maintains oversight of the institution’s quality assurance and enhancement (QAE) activities via the monitoring of identified academic and performance quality indicators (AQI’s and PQI’s) to ensure appropriate resource is made available to enhance the quality of the student experience and safeguard academic standards.

Professor Daniel Howard Chair
Dan is an extremely experienced leader in both the academic and industrial sectors, who has specialised in the leadership of ambitious organisations that want to develop progressive strategies operating practices. His specialty is the Creative Industries sector, and his positive approach to developing staff engagement and institutional practice has led to his leading initiatives like the establishment of Media Academies, endorsement by the Association of European Conservatoires or the establishment of a Screenwriters Festival. Paul Kirkham ICMP Chief Executive

Paul Kirkham Chief Executive
Paul Kirkham, ICMP Chief Executive, is a farmers’ son from Cheshire who graduated from Edinburgh University in 1987 with an honours degree in agriculture. He then spent 15 years building a highly successful career in a large multinational organisation, managing large companies in countries as diverse as Bangladesh, Nigeria and Uzbekistan. However, he always had a passion for songwriting and decided in 2002 to take a sabbatical year enrol as a student at the then Guitar Institute to improve his musical skills and knowledge. Read more

 

Dr Tony Harris

Dr Tony Harris Dean of Academic Studies 
Tony is a musician, academic and educator with over 20 years’ experience in the education sector. His role at ICMP is the strategic leadership and management of the institution’s academic provision, portfolio of programmes, teaching and learning development, and the faculty team. His career history is unusual in that he’s had the privilege of working in all educational phases and sectors, from primary through to doctoral study, and he prides himself on a comprehensive understanding of music learning processes. Syra Vahidy

Syra Vahidy Non-executive Director
Syra is a British citizen of Pakistani extraction who moved to the UK in 2009 to avail herself of an investment opportunity with ICMP and a position as a Director in the company. Having spent time in the UK as a University student in the 1970’s, Syra was familiar with the UK educational and professional environment and culture and was therefore equipped to take up this new challenge. Her investment and participation has helped grow the institution threefold in the 9 years since joining. Read more

 

Pete Whittard Business Development Director ICMP

Pete Whittard Business Development Director
Pete is a co-founder of ICMP and an experienced senior leader in Higher Education, a professional musician and company director with over 14 years’ experience. He is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has been part of the core team that has seen ICMP grow significantly in recent years. Pete was instrumental in conceiving, validating and developing ICMP’s portfolio, faculty and estates strategy and in identifying, building and maintaining key external partnerships with a number of academic partners (University of East London, University of South Wales, College of North West London, Middlesex University, EDI, OCN and Pearson). Martin Day

Martin Day Senior non-executive  Director 
Martin has 22 years’ experience of the financial services sector, incorporating strategic and business development roles at NatWest/RBS, including through the merger process. Martin studied Economic Geography at University College London, graduating in 1981. Having achieved the professional qualification of Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) while working at NatWest, he was sponsored to study for an Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Henley Business School, graduating in 2000. Roxanne Stockwell

Roxanne Stockwell Non executive Director
Roxanne has been a member of the ICMP Board since 2015 and has greatly enjoyed seeing the school grow and develop over this time. She is currently studying for a Doctorate in Higher Education Management at the University of Bath’s School of Management, specialising in industry engagement in higher education, and is actively researching the experience of recent business graduates in their transition in to work, and considering what that should mean for university practice. Read more
