Iain Scott | Guitar Tutor | ICMP London

Iain Scott has been a professional session guitarist and guitar teacher for over forty years. Playing since 1970, his early years were spent in Cardiff doing sessions for the BBC and HTV during the day and working cabaret clubs by night. He also ran a jazz-fusion band and played in the Welsh Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Eric Wetherall.

After playing with dozens of chart-topping artists throughout the 1970s, Iain relocated to Los Angeles in 1982, where he studied – and later taught – at the Guitar Institute of Technology. There he played with many artists, notably Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, and Afterburner, with jazz fusion guitarist, Frank Gambale.

Iain returned to London in 1989 to play a series of Pops Concerts with the Welsh National Orchestra and later joined the ICMP, developing the Higher Diploma and BMus programs.

In 2002, Iain achieved an MMus in Composing for Film and TV and has since set up a recording studio to develop production music and various other projects. He continues to play in many different, areas including blues, fusion, and jazz.
