ICMP is delighted to launch the new academic year with the opening of our second campus in London’s Queen’s Park.

Located just ten minutes walk from our Kilburn base, the new £2.5m development features three state-of-the-art studios and is aimed at supporting students across a range of degrees, including our BA Music for Film, TV and Games, BA Audio Engineering and BA and MA Creative Music Production programmes.

The first phase of the project is now complete, with a high-end recording studio, state-of-the-art post-production facilities (including foley room), and mixing and mastering studio up and running.

ICMP is excited to be calling Queen’s Park home and open our new creative hub not only to students but businesses and members of the local community.

Chris Catchpole, ICMP’s Head of Estates & Facilities, said: "We are super excited to welcome students to the first phase of our new site in Queen’s Park."

"Working with our design team Veale Associates, we have built three professional studios introducing an SSL Origin desk in the main tracking studio, retaining an Audient Heritage ASP 8024 for our Mix Mastering Studio and extending our post-production provision with an Avid S6, Dolby Atmos and dedicated Foley and sound replacement live room."

Our new undergraduate degree in Music for Film, TV and Games now has a dedicated space and will provide students with the opportunity to develop the skills they need for success in the wider industry."

James Rees, Programme Leader, BA Creative Music Production, said: "I've been a part of the working group for this project for the last few months so have been lucky enough to see the project develop. I first saw the building just as the construction workers started work on it, so it was quite remarkable to walk in on the first day of term, and see it ready to welcome our production students."

"The new rooms are great and feature plenty of high end recording equipment that our students will benefit from with the new SSL Origin console an amazing addition to our production equipment."

Gareth John Spicer, Programme Manager for Undergraduate Production, said: "I’ve only had the pleasure of seeing the new buiding a few times but I was instantly hit by how special it feels. There is a sense of new beginnings and possibilities for both our students and staff."

It is very satisfying to know that the new production students, and my team of tutors get to create music in such a fantastic and inspiring environment."

Mel Uye-Parker, Programme Leader, MA Creative Music Production, said: “It’s really exciting to see this space evolve within the few months I’ve been at ICMP.  The amount of thought that has gone into kitting this out with state-of-the art facilities is matched by the stunning build. I’m thrilled that our students get to study here, it’s one of the best studios that I’ve stepped foot in. They’re going to love it.”
