Gareth Spicer is ICMP's Programme Leader for UG Production, currently leading our BA (Hons) Music Production for Film, TV, and Games and our BA (Hons) Audio Engineering and Production.
Gareth is also an accomplished session drummer and a regular fixture on the London gigging scene. Teaching drums since the age of 14, Gareth has a wealth of experience, both on stage and in the classroom.
Gareth studied music performance at Drum Tech, graduating in 2011. Since graduating, he has been playing with a number of bands and artists, doing session work, recording, touring and teaching. Notable previous session gigs include work with number-one-selling electronic production outfit Chase & Status. Gareth has also played at numerous European festivals including Blackpool’s Rebellion Festival and AAAHHLIVE Festival in Bralitz, Germany.
Gareth continues to perform regularly in and around London, most often with his “really loud pop band”, Walk Upright, with a new album being launched in late 2017. He uses Premier drums, Vic Firth sticks, and both Zildjian and Sabian cymbals.
