The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance is committed to delivering and maintaining the highest academic standards across all of its programmes.
Quality Assurance & Enhancement
In addition to our own internal procedures, our programmes are subject to external reviews and monitoring including those carried out by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) as well as the awarding bodies that we work with.
ICMP was re-reviewed by the QAA in February 2015 and successfully met UK expectations in all areas of assessment, with five areas of good practice identified and two recommendations. Following an annual monitoring visit in March 2018, it’s with great pleasure that we announce that the QAA has assessed our performance as “commendable”, specifically recognising our commitment to continuous improvement across many areas, in particular in the monitoring, evaluating and enhancement of our provision. The outcomes of the QAA Review and Monitoring Visits are available to view here.
The Action Plan following the Higher Education Review is available to view here.
In June 2018, ICMP was awarded a Teaching Excellent Framework Bronze award.
ICMP understands that to ensures that stakeholders interests are properly safeguarded effective systems, structures and processes are required to ensure that every key decision is robustly tested and evaluated for appropriateness. These systems, structures and processes are referred to as the Governance Framework and the development of this framework is driven by the ICMP’s ongoing Governance Strategy.
Putting students at the heart of everything we do, our academic committees include student membership to ensure that students are fully involved in the decision-making process.
