Congratulations to ICMP alumnus Jay Lewis who has signed a new record deal with his band, Daydreamers.

Jay studied drums on our BMus in Popular Music Performance course and is now a member of the group who recently released their debut single, 'Call Me Up'.

The track has already hit more than 1.4 million streams on Spotify after being released on 4th April.

Jay's involvement with Daydreamers came through previously recording with engineer Will Hicks

Will went on to form his own artist management company, Quarter Tone Management, and took on Daydreamers frontman Riley before introducing him to Jay and the rest of the group.

Commenting on signing the deal, Jay said: "As well as having the songs in a great place, label interest was essentially the result of our social media campaign gaining momentum."

There was one post in particular that gained a lot of traction on Instagram and TikTok and we then started to receive messages from A&R reps."

"Many meetings later and we’re now signed with Sony: Robots + Humans in The UK and Epic in the US. This is massive for the band as it unlocks established channels to all the DSPs to release our music, and gives us the financial support we need for touring."

"The Hub was an invaluable resource, particularly for the audition opportunities and the support they offered both during and after my time at ICMP."

James Brister, Artist Development Manager at ICMP's Careers and Industry Hub, said:

Congratulations to Jay and the rest of his band on this fantastic achievement and signing the new deal."

"It's been brilliant to see his career progress from his time with ICMP back when we were the Institute. Well done to Jay - he was always driven, dedicated and committed to his art, craft and development - and we’re excited to see what happens next for the Daydreamers."
