Congratulations to MA Music Business alumna Candela Pena on securing a new internship with Sony Music's Sync department.

Candela initially studied an undergraduate programme in music performance before discovering a passion for music sync.

She went on to study our Masters degree to fulfil her ambitions by developing a career within the business side of the sector.

Candela simultaneously pursued a role as Exhibition Coordinator Assistant of the Formula 1 Exhibition while studying at ICMP before graduating from our programme in 2023

Commenting, Candela said: "I joined the course literally wanting to get purely into sync. There were a lot of people who wanted to get into marketing, who wanted to be a manager, then artists who wanted to work out how to navigate the business."

The course and studying alongside my peers really helped me open my mind - and realise that there was more in the business that I could get to grips with."

"One of the best things about it is how the teachers are still willing to help after you leave. I emailed all of them to say how I was looking for a job, they would do introductions - they are there for you even after you have graduated."

Yannis Iliopoulos, ICMP's Music Business and Entrepreneurship Senior Programmes Manager, said: "Candela graduated with a High first from MA Music Business this year."

She has been an outstanding student, setting the benchmark for the course, and I am convinced that she will be a top class music industry professional."

Well done again to Candela on winning this great opportunity with Sony Music - we wish her all the best for when she starts in January 2024.
