Over the course of the academic year, ICMP offers a whole host of events for students and alumni to engage with.

ICMP's varied programme takes in on-site sessions alongside a range of workshops, panels and seminars. Students and alumni have multiple opportunities to perform, access paid work and ultimately attend these exclusive events to gain knowledge and insight from music industry professionals at the top of their game.

Not only can these sessions enhance our academic programme, but they can provide an invaluable opportunity for our students to network with peers and industry guests.

Our Events Programme

Alongside our Marketing team and Careers and Industry Hub, our Events team can be an invaluable resource for students and alumni. The programme put together caters for those about to join ICMP alongside current students and alumni.

Open Days and Tours

If you’ve studied with us, then you’re likely to have visited our campus for an Open Day or taken a tour of our building.

These events are a brilliant way for you to get a feel of what life is like as an ICMP student, to experience our brilliant, state-of-the-art facilities and meet staff and tutors.

Accommodation Events

We run accommodation events for students looking to find somewhere to live.

These events can be a great way for incoming students to meet their peers and potential housemates.

For returning students, they can be an effective way of sourcing new housing arrangements or other people to live with. We invite local estate agents and accommodation providers to attend to help you with your search.

Songwriters’ Circle

ICMP’s Songwriters’ Circle is a monthly musical celebration hosted by our songwriting faculty.

Not only does it offer students across all courses exclusive performance opportunities to play alongside some of popular music’s most respected and celebrated songwriters but gives attendees the chance to learn the stories behind the music in an intimate setting. Past guests have included the likes of Frank Turner and alumna, Daughter's Elena Tonra

How to get involved with ICMP’s events

With so many live events taking place, there are often performance opportunities for ICMP students.

Here, Lasse Corus, Events Coordinator, tells us what students and alumni can do to make the most of these opportunities.

If you do get accepted to perform, then the most important things to do is to prepare yourself, time your performance in a rehearsal (to ensure you're not overrunning on the day), arrive on time and be nice to the sound engineer and everyone around you."

"This will make your life a lot easier and also help us to ensure that our events run as smoothly as they can."

We've been delighted to welcome more female music production students than ever before to both our BA and MA in Creative Music Production this academic year.

To celebrate, we have partnered with the F-List to create a special evening where we welcome female professionals in music production to a networking evening on Monday 27th September, 7pm at ICMP.

The super talented Bishi will be giving a presentation about how she creates her own music, and there will be opportunities to meet ICMP tutors and representatives from the F-List.

Taking place on 29th September, the first session of the year will feature the amazing writer, producer, and mixer Steph Marziano. For the past six years, Philadelphia-bred, London-based Steph Marziano has been writing, producing and mixing across some of the world’s biggest acts including Sam Smith, Kasabian and Radiohead.
