Spotlight Stay Home by Tarantola

Here at ICMP we are proud to support our community and always look forward to sharing their successes.

Each Tuesday, we present a student or graduate music project, making it our #ICMPSpotlight of the week.

This time we've chosen to shine a light on Stay Home, a video by ICMP band Tarantola.

ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 7TH APRIL 2020

STAY HOME, A SONG AND VIDEO BY TARANTOLA.

It all started as a game. Tarantola wanted to try to write a song about the current pandemic scenario, inspired by this Will Smith quote; "Your life will become better by making other people’s lives better".

As they were working on the song, they soon realised that there was a very good vibe around it and so they challenged themselves to write, record, produce a song and make a music video in 10 days!

In the meantime, the band - which features ICMP student and alumni Mauro Lacandia, Bruno Pinto, and Edoardo Mariotti - asked their friends, families, and followers from around the world to contribute to the project by sending a video of them singing the words of the chorus from Stay Home.

In Edoardo's words:

The video became immediately the core piece of the project! It boosted the sense of community around the band and ICMP too. We wanted to reach out to all the people who - like us - believe that together we can change other people's lives just by giving a tiny bit of our time.

And they were right; the response has been great! With almost 8000 views in one day and over 200 shares, the band was able to make people come together and brighter their time at home.

The video features the following members of the ICMP community;
Valerio La Piana, Ignacio Sainz, Violaine Wattoo, Francesca Confortini, Laertis Ventor, Alexandros Charalambous, Athena Sofianou, Piergiorgio Ciarla, Inez Eliassen, Isabelle Luca Borg, Simone Niles, Simone Langiu, Maximilian Frattura, Ana Saffer, and tutor Yannis Iliopoulos.
