ISSME 2017 | ICMP Music School London

ICMP is delighted to announce that it will be hosting the10th International Symposium on the Sociology of Music Education between 11th – 14th June 2017.

This is a biennial event that comes to ICMP from Loyola University, New Orleans, where the group last met in 2015.

About ISSME 2017

The Symposium is an academic conference that draws together music education academics from around the world to discuss issues, practices and perspectives that focus around connecting music learning and other music-related experiences with the lives, values, identities and communities of those involved.

Professor Tia DeNora, a leading influential figure in the sociology of music, has been confirmed as keynote for ISSME 2017. The event begins with an informal welcome and reception on Sunday 11 June, and concludes in the early afternoon of Wednesday June 14.
Opportunities for musical collaboration and engagement will include a jam session and popular music concert, as well all that London has to offer.
