ICMP is pleased to formally welcome our new Dean of Academic Studies, Tony Harris. Tony was previously at Nottingham Trent University as Head of Teacher Education, as well as running NTU's highly regarded PGCE Secondary Music Course during his time there. Tony also has experience working with the education team for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as well as lecturing at Birmingham Conservatoire, and has also taught music at a variety of secondary schools all of the UK.
Tony is also a published writer, with his book Legacy of Cornelius Cardew being published by Ashgate and is also co-author of The GCSE Composition Course, published by Peters Edition.
With a background in Music, as both a performer and composer, Tony has toured nationally as a percussionist with the CoMA East Midlands ensemble and also records his own solo material. Tony is excited to be helping young people achieve their goals of becoming musicians, and he is very much looking forward to being part of the ICMP's quest in achieving greater and better things over the coming years.
