ICMP was delighted to welcome a group of Italian students as part of the London Music Weekend for a series of live gigs and classes.
The event, which ran from 30th November to 3rd December, was hosted by ICMP in partnership with the Green Rooms Hotel in Wood Green, North London and the Half Moon in Putney.
The day at ICMP saw acclaimed session players Gareth Brown (drums), Lawrence Insula (bass), Shean Williams (vocals) and Luca Faraone (guitar) discuss their experiences performing with the likes of Craig David, Rita Ora and more.
On stage Gareth talked about tips and advice on the ways bands can play together
Commenting, he said: “Songs are musical conversations. It’s easy to get caught up in your own world when playing but you need to be dynamic and mindful of the music going on around. This will help make you a better performer.”
The students went on to play a live gig at the Half Moon in Putney as part of the weekend.

It has been an experience that made me grow as a musician and person. The tutors were inspirational and the passion they put in made me understand their love for what they do and the effort needed to reach these results. I hope one day to be able to make the light shine in me as they have managed to make them."
Paola from Altramusica said: "It was a fantastic experience that I certainly won't forget and it was really worth it to do this journey to listen and interact with really good artists."

The London Music Weekend is an extension of the partnership between ICMP and Italian music school Altramusica.
