Shields | ICMP Spotlight

With so much amazing success, it’s hard to keep track of ICMP student and alumni achievements.

So to help, our team at The Hub is choosing a track each week from a selected ICMP artist or band from their network. Any artist who comes under the #ICMPSpotlight is one already attracting industry attention and starting to make some serious waves with music lovers and critics alike. Get in touch with The Hub via thehub@icmp.ac.uk to tip them off about any success stories you think we need to know about...

ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 23RD January

'It's killing me’ - Shields

It’s in the live arena where North London metal band Shields have sharpened their musical claws, touring extensively up and down the UK pretty much from the get-go.

Featuring our alumni Joe Edwards, Sam Kubrick  and Alex Rayner, the band has built up a heady head of steam up off their own backs, attracting a devoted fanbase for their hard hitting, tech-infused take on guitar music.

With their track, ‘I Just Feel Hate’, picking up almost 1.5 million YouTube views, Shields have galvanised their audience through their headline gigs and support slots with the likes of Escape The Fate, Palisades, Secrets, Our Hollow Our Home as well as two EPs under their collective belts. It’s all looking good for 2018 with endorsements from Ernie Ball and EPSP, a new record deal with Long Branch Records in the bag and brand spanking new music in the form of 'It's Killing Me'  just released...
