What are halls of residence?

Student halls of residence are purpose-built buildings that typically contain self-contained flats. The cost usually includes utility bills, so you need not worry about extra payments for gas, water, electricity, and Wi-Fi – everything is included in the price. During the day, there is usually on-site management and maintenance staff, with security staff present at night.

These halls offer a variety of accommodation options, ranging from single rooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms to en-suite and studio accommodation. Once you make an offer for a room, you will be asked to secure the booking with a deposit (around £350) and sign the license to occupy. To take advantage of any special offers, it is advisable to secure a room early, note that early cancellation policies may apply.

Please note that ICMP does not own or manage any halls of residence. All halls accommodation is privately owned, and applications must be submitted directly to the hall provider.

Recommended halls of residence

If you are looking for halls of residence-style accommodation, we can recommend accommodation providers who offer affordable options within easy reach of ICMP. Please note that contract start dates may differ from ICMP's academic year start date; however, most providers will offer an early arrival option, which can be discussed directly with the provider.
