ICMP welcomed students from a number of different Italian music schools for our latest London Music Weekend.

Students from The Hub Academy in Montecchio, (ICMP partner school and event organiser), L'Accademia in Parma (partner school), Grooveland in Reggio EmiliaMusicarte Scuola di Livorno and Take Five in Citta di Castello were among those who visited for three days of performance and collaboration.

As part of the event, a range of masterclasses and live performance workshops took place at ICMP’s Kilburn campus with live performance rehearsals at the new Queens Park campus.

Tutors Craig Lowe (Bass),  Malcolm 'Bubba' McCarthy (Drums) and Jon Harris (Drums) were all part of the weekend taking part in masterclasses, and live performance workshops.

Ace hosted a Skunk Anansie music masterclass plus a session on guitar tech while Sean Williams, backing vocalist for Craig David, also ran an amazing masterclass.

Commenting, Ace said:

It's always amazing to welcome our partners schools to our campus to experience the professional facilities and great tutors, but the best thing about it is the fun and enjoyment that the students have while they are here!"

On the Saturday night of the weekend, all participating students came together to play a gig at the Kilburn Fiddler with students forming different groups and performing more than 20 songs.

It was fantastic to welcome the students to ICMP and our staff, students and tutors are looking forward to hosting a similar event for music students from our partners soon.
