We were delighted to welcome the ICMP community to Queen's Park on Friday 28th October to celebrate the opening of our incredible new campus.

The event was a chance for staff, alumni and industry guests to get together for some food and drinks, to catch up, and revel in the incredible new facilities on offer as well as enjoy live music.

Performers on the night included BA Songwriting students Gabrielle Lacerda and Atli alongside BMus in Popular Music Performance student, Gertrud Aasaroht.

The event's special guest Yolanda Charles said:

When I look around at what’s available at ICMP and the BMus Scholarship as well (which I sponsor), I am so excited for everybody, that they have opportunities to study here."

"I know that if it’s taken to maximum potential, it will feed into your future career as a musician."

The gear kitting out the new space is impressive with a Midas M32 Digital Mixing Desk, JBL VRX 932LA-1 (main PA), JBL AE Series AC18/26 (delay PA), Chamsys QuickQ 10 (Single universe lighting desk).

Elsewhere, much of the backline has come from industry partners including a Fender Deluxe (guitar amp), Marshall Origin (guitar Amp), Aguilar Tone Hammer 350 (bass amp), Yamaha Stage Custom (drum shells) and Roland ED-300NX (electric keyboard).

Paul Kirkham, ICMP Chief Executive, said: "This is a special place for us, it’s a very special place for our students, but it’s also, we hope, going to become a very special place for our community, our friends and partners."

"We are literally building a university in the middle of this community, it’s something we are really proud of and are really focused on."

We understand that a university means something to its community, means something to the people who live around it, and we know that we have to live up to expectations."

Tulip Siddiq, MP for Hampstead and Kilburn, said: "As a leading music education provider, I was delighted to hear that ICMP has been awarded full degree-awarding powers and will soon have university status. This is an excellent achievement and one that is a testament to the hard work of all the staff, teachers and students involved."

I am proud to champion all the amazing work ICMP does in ensuring local people, no matter their background, get the opportunity to develop their musical talents."

"I wish ICMP and all its amazing staff and students all the success in the future."

Thanks to everyone who was in attendance. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
