Singer songwriter Victoria Keene, recipient of ICMP’s Hattie Longfield Scholarship, has successfully graduated following three years of study.

Hattie Longfield was a brilliant London visual artist, a talented emerging songwriter and a much loved and respected member of the ICMP songwriting community who sadly passed away in 2014.

The bursary was established by Hattie’s family, friends, and colleagues, designed to reflect her outlook on life and creativity.

Victoria, who records as the artist Reya Jane, was the recipient of the scholarship and studied the BA Songwriting degree

Commenting on her studies with ICMP, Victoria said:

Winning the scholarship gave me a huge confidence boost and showed to me that choosing to follow my songwriting dreams was the right choice and was really something I was good at!"

“I think it was also confirmation to my family that I was good enough as well. I’m now leaving uni with a whole lot less debt which means I can invest more into my career going forward including recording and releasing more, with plans for an EP early next year!”

Daniel Green, ICMP’s Teaching Fellow In Popular Music Studies, said:

"I am so immensely proud of Victoria's journey throughout the BA (Hons) Songwriting programme. She has fully embodied the spirit of this wonderful bursary by continuing Hattie Longfield's creative legacy.

By now stepping out into the music industry, Victoria will be contributing to the UK's rich tapestry of female singer-songwriters. It has been my pleasure to work with Victoria over the last three years."
