ICMP Awards Ceremony 2019

ICMP recently celebrated the achievements of its latest graduates with a special awards ceremony at The Barbican’s Milton Court.

Taking place in late October, the packed event saw the ICMP community, alongside friends and family, come together to recognise the work of both students and tutors with awards across our courses.

Many of the prizes were sponsored by our long-term partners including Shure, GAK, Ernie Ball, Audientthe Musicians' Union and The Ivors Academy

The latest academic year has been an important one at ICMP with great work taking place throughout all our programmes of study and outside the classroom.

We’ve seen the graduation of our first intake of BA Creative Music Production students, a course which has gone from strength to strength since launching in 2016. This year we opened our latest brand new in-house studio while students are also benefiting from enjoying further experience at an external studio space in Camden.

At the event, Paul Kirkham, ICMP Chief Executive, said: “As we look to the challenges we all face - within society and across the world - it's important to remember the power of music, its value and how it can be used as a force for good to bring all us closer together."

As graduates, each of you have dedicated a significant part of your life and your studies so far to providing the world with more music. Never forget that you are doing something of value to the whole world. Well done and keep creating more!”

Ken Foreman, Associate Dean and Programme Leader of the Music Business and Entrepreneurship Programme, said that today's graduates were entering an industry in great health. The latest figures from music industry body IFPI revealed that in 2018, global recorded music revenues posted growth of 9.7 percent, the fourth consecutive year of global growth.

"Thanks to digital and the rapid growth of music streaming everyone graduating today is entering a burgeoning industry. Opportunities are emerging every day, talent will out; unique artists will be discovered, and I genuinely believe they will breakthrough."

I urge you all to believe in independence; be entrepreneurial; and most important of all remember why you chose music and don’t stop having fun!"

We’d like to once again wish all our graduates well and give a big thanks to our sponsors and partners for their brilliant support.
