You are invited to join the Awareness In Music [A.I.M] event. About this event Your Student President Joy-Princess Okoh and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) Officer Monday Osarobo are inviting you to join the Awareness in Music Event Series (A.I.M).

These events A.I.M to raise awareness of EDI matters and celebrate diverse individuals within the community by encouraging students from the ICMP community to engage, educate, and challenge themselves on appropriate behaviours/attitudes – linked to both music industry and education. It ensures that students can see how EDI applies in the real world and their chosen industry regarding: Race, Misogyny, Sexual Misconduct, and Disability. Each weekly A.I.M event will open with a student performance, and targets to open up conversations and dialogue on lived experiences by following with a panel discussion amongst ICMP staff, relevant external guests and the student audience present.

We urge the entire student body to engage in such a vital educational experience. So please do join us for our second panel on Tuesday 15th February with our guest speaker Ruth Lyon which will be discussing the topic of DISABILITY. Ruth is a singer-songwriter from Newcastle Upon Tyne, with an intense honesty and impulse to say it how it is. With the raw energy of a young disabled person who has constantly had to adapt to life’s twists and turns, her introspective and sometimes droll twist on storytelling brings up questions you never knew you should be asking.
