What will I learn?
Attend daily studio classes: During this focused week, you’ll become familiar with the working practices of professional recording studios as you learn your craft in cutting-edge studio facilities. Each day you’ll enjoy a combination of hands-on practical experience in the studio and time in our learning suites where you’ll be supported by ICMP’s tutors – all experts in sound engineering, recording and mixing.
Record with professional equipment: Modern sound and mixing engineers need a broad understanding of the hardware and software of the studio recording process. You’ll gain experience of both as you use ICMP’s specialist recording and mixing equipment to complete your studio recording project, finessing your ‘studio craft’ at the same time.
Fine-tune your mixing skills: Across your week in the studio, you’ll gain a solid understanding of the techniques and processes needed to record, engineer and mix an end-to-end project. You’ll achieve a full, balanced and professional sound on your own studio recording, and will leave with a finished track you can showcase as an example of just how far you’ve come.
Build your industry network: During your time with us, you’ll participate in songwriting collaborations with your fellow Summer School peers and engage in ICMP networking workshops. These activities will help you strengthen your social and music business skills and build your industry contacts for a potential career in music.
