Event Details
On Thursday 3rd September, we'll be hosting a welcome day for incoming Mature Students, from 10am to 3pm (including a lunch break).
What is this about?
For many students who have been out of the education system for a while, starting a university course can both be exciting and worrying. It can involve lots of change including readjusting to an academic environment and lifestyle, meeting new people, taking on new responsibilities and roles, and getting used to new environments and ways of doing things.
What will I get out of the day?
We will cover various topics that we hope will be useful to you, and you will also have the chance to ask any questions you might have.
10am – Welcome and introductions
10.45 – Presentation/discussion on Creating a Sense of Belonging - an opportunity to share concerns and anxieties about studying at ICMP / in higher education
12.15 – Short break
12.45 – Information about the kinds of additional support you can access as an ICMP student (academic support and general wellbeing support); includes feedback and Q&A session
