Professor Sophie Daniels, alumna Lauren Alex Hooper and Teaching Fellow in Vocal Studies Lucinda Allen will be among the speakers at the The F-List for Music Research Hub's third annual Research Conference.

Held from 22nd - 23rd May at Springfield Campus, University of Wolverhampton, the theme of the latest event is 'Music for Social Change' and will welcome a host of leading speakers and academics to present research and share ideas.

Sophie will be presenting 'Why do We Write Songs? Creativity, Originality and Authorship' alongside Metka Potocnik following their recent appearance at the Gendering Matters conference in Copenhagen

Lauren will be participating in a session on Practice Research II, billed as '#ActuallyAutistic: Songs for an Underserved Audience'.

Lucinda Allen will be discussing 'Voice and Consent' as part of a section of the day entitled as 'Voices, Representation and Music'.

Commenting, Sophie said: "I have been involved with and attended the annual conference for the previous two years and can honestly say that both were brilliant."

Last year's event may have been the best conference I've attended in terms of content and inclusivity and I urge anyone interested in championing gender equality and academic research to join."

The two-day event in May will be held in person at the University of Wolverhampton, hosted by The F-List and the Law Research Centre.

The F-List Research Hub was set up to increase knowledge by conducting research into gender inequality in music. In its approach, the Research Hub aims to implement an inclusive definition of research.

ICMP has been involved in previous events, hosting the second annual event in 2023 and working closely with F-List Founder, Vick Bain
