Congratulations to ICMP’s Yannis Iliopoulos, Senior Programme Manager for ICMP’s Music Business and Entrepreneurship degrees, for winning support for his Unsigned & Gifted music venture.

Unsigned & Gifted was originally launched as a popular live events series pre-pandemic.

Now thanks to support from the Arts Council of England and The National Lottery UK, the scheme will be expanded.

Plans include a series of six bi-monthly live events promoting unsigned talent, educational workshops and a licensing platform focusing on offering artists, producers and writers the opportunity to put their music forward for use in sync placements.

Commenting, Yannis said: "The core aim of the Unsigned & Gifted venture is to enable grassroots musicians to identify, trigger and claim early revenue streams."

By educating and empowering artists, producers and writers that come from underprivileged communities to monetise their creativity as early as possible in their career, we lower the barriers to music industry access and contribute to the creation of a more diverse, balanced, sustainable and representative music ecosystem."

ICMP will be supporting the event by offering facilities for the workshops.

The Unsigned and Gifted core team comprises Yannis, two other ICMP tutors, Neil March and Mauro Lacandia and Monica Lambies Sanchez, an ICMP alumna currently working as a Royalty Manager at BMG.
