Our Careers and Industry team actively support and nurture all the musical talent to pass through ICMP and are responsible for selecting our weekly #ICMPSpotlight artist.

This week they've chosen to shine the spotlight on the rapper Lina Simons, one of our BA (Hons) Creative Musicianship students.

Lina Simons is a London based italian-nigerian rapper and singer blending hard hitting bars and rhymes with strong vocals. In 2018, a collaboration with the Italian producer B-Art resulted in Lina's debut EP 'Hope' , out on Smilax Publishing.

After taking some time off due to personal matters, Lina is now back with a new single and a tour on the way as well.

Inspired by artists such as Cardi B, Young M.A and Azealia Banks, Lina's style has been described as a mixture of trap and soul music.

The video for 'Lina Is Back' has recently been released and has already gained a lot of interest. Lina commented:

I am really amazed by people reactions. I am surprised by how many people actually like and believe in what I do. I will keep working; new tunes are coming your way!"

Keep up to date with Lina Simons on Facebook and Instagram.
