Sonos Radio’s Saidah Blount is the latest guest to appear on ICMP’s Sounds Like These podcast.

Hosted by Lara Magnelli from ICMP’s Marketing Team, the series profiles music professionals to hear more about their industry journeys and advice for aspiring musicians, artists and more.

Saidah is a New York-based music curator with more than 20 years of experience in music journalism and brand activation.

Her experience has seen her work as a journalist during the New York music scene’s heyday when the Strokes, LCD Soundsystem and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs were all emerging.

She now works at Sonos Radio as Executive Producer, researching and listening to new music to curate broadcasts for the brand.

Commenting, Lara said:

Saidah was such a pleasure to talk music and career (and much else) with. If you're into music curation and radio programming, you can't miss this episode."

In the interview, Saidah talked about her career, from the beginnings to today, and also touched on important issues such as ageism in the music industry.

She also shared a few tips on how to turn your playlist curator art into a sustainable career and also on where to find new music - beyond the Spotify algorithm.
