At ICMP we want to support all aspiring musicians, songwriters and producers to access higher education, which for many is a life-changing and career-starting experience.
Our NTRE (Non-Traditional Route to Entry) is a process that we've designed to support applicants who are unable to meet the academic entry criteria required for their chosen course. This can occur in a variety of situations, such as with those who didn't complete further education, or perhaps those who've opted to pursue alternative careers/education routes, such as apprenticeships or unrelated careers.
If you feel that you may fit this entry route, your first step will be to successfully complete your audition and interview with us. Following this, our friendly Admissions Team will send you information on how our NTRE process works and also the support and resources available to you.
At ICMP, we'll support you through our NTRE process and our team remain on hand to provide guidance as required. You'll be asked to complete a personal statement and write a short essay on a topic devised by ICMP’s academic team.
The NTRE is available for all course levels, undergraduate and postgraduate, and all submissions are assessed by an experienced panel who will be able to identify your potential or any additional adjustments that may be required for you to study at ICMP.
Applicants taking the NTRE route are usually permitted two attempts at submitting their work, and if successful will be granted entry onto the ICMP course of their choice (pending all other conditions have been met).
