ICMP was delighted to host five successful panel sessions exploring the Artist’s Journey at London’s Excel at the start of October.

Running from 6-8 October, the event welcomed many of the music industry’s leading lights to the conference hall.

Over the course of five packed sessions, our experts discussed and debated The Artist's Journey, including how to establish sonic identities, promotion and playing live.

James Brister, said: "BBC Music Introducing’s Amplify was a fantastic event, providing invaluable insight for our students and great networking opportunities.

We welcomed some of the industry’s leading lights to our packed Artist’s Journey sessions over the three days, providing all in attendance with plenty of advice and tips on how to advance their music careers. I’m looking forward to see how the event develops in the coming years."

Many ICMP students visited the event and attended our panels over the three days.

Daniel Jacklin said: "I am a second year on the BA Songwriting course and I attended BBC Amplify on its opening day. I didn't want to leave. The event consisted of interviews with major contenders in the music industry, feedback sessions, equipment demonstrations and much more.

ICMP hosted a talk on sonic identities and it offered me useful advice on what it takes to be a successful artist. It's about time large events like this were in place for people hoping to enter any strand of the music industry."
