ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 30th May 2017
‘Why D’You Make Me Cry?’ - Odina

What is ICMP Spotlight?

With so many amazing successes, it’s hard to keep track of what ICMP students and graduates are achieving! So we thought we’d help a little by highlighting a track each week from a selected ICMP artist who is already attracting industry attention and starting to make waves in the business, putting one of them under a Spotlight of our own.

This week’s Spotlight artist

This week we have selected Odina and her track ‘Why D’You Make Me Cry?’.

Odina’s full name is Blanca Romeo De La Higuera, and she is a graduate of our Cert HE Songwriting course, which forms part of the ICMP Songwriting degree.  The track has already had loads of positive press from the likes of Clash Magazine, The Line of Best Fit and Wonderland Magazine and was recently added to Spotify’s ‘Indie Acoustic Playlist’.

Odina has recently supported artists including Sola, Nuria Graham and Allman Brown and completed a tour of student unions around the UK for Coffee House Sessions.  And if you would like to catch her live, she will be playing at the fantastic Primavera Sound Festival 2017 in Barcelona between 31st May and 4th June.

How ICMP helped Odina

At ICMP, we provide students with a wide range of opportunities for career development and industry engagement through our careers and industry advisory service, the Hub. In this case, the team met regularly with Odina to discuss and provide advice on such things as the release strategy and timelines. While all the success is undoubtedly down to her, we are always happy to help in any way we can!
