Spotlight: Mister Lees Covid Covers

Each Tuesday, we present a student or graduate music project, making it our #ICMPSpotlight of the week.

This time we've chosen to shine a light on Mister Lees Covid Covers, a series of lockdown covers by BA Creative Music Production graduate Joel Lees, also known as Mister Lees.

ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 30TH JUNE 2020

MISTER LEES COVID COVERS, AN ONLINE SERIES BY MISTER LEES.

Mister Lees is an artist and producer who recently graduated from our BA Creative Music Production course. During the past few months, he released a series of lockdown covers of songs from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Stormzy, and Lewis Capaldi and put his unique 90s spin on them.

His latest cover, 'Lost Without You' by Freya Ridings, was a special one as it included a verse that Mister Lees wrote for his grandad. You can listen and watch it here:

Joel has not only released a series of covers but also finished his Music Production degree and released his debut single 'LDN' which reached 13k streams to this date.
