Spotlight Artist Aaron Anderson

Here at ICMP we are proud to support our students and alumni and always look forward to sharing their successes.

Every Tuesday we source the best new releases from our community and make them #ICMPSpotlight of the week.

This week we've chosen to shine a light on ICMP Creative Musicianship student Aaron Anderson.

ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 1ST OCTOBER

'ADDICTED' BY AARON ANDERSON

Aaron Anderson is one of our BA (Hons) Creative Musicianship students as well as a singer-songwriter, blending together genres such as Hip Hop and Grime to smooth cuts in Modern RnB and Afroswing. His music has been featured on radio stations like Capital Xtra, Reprezent Radio and Hoxton Radio.

Aaron told us that with his music he aims to get men to talk openly about the issues that show their vulnerability:

I was inspired to write this song based on a message I had from a friend. I decided to try to create a reflective mood for the listener so that people can think about situations in their own life that relate to the song"

To be able to do so, Aaron decided to create a kind of 'state of trance' within the song, using many repetitions in both the ad libs and backing vocals.

Keep up to date with Aaron Anderson on Instagram.

Listen to our Spotlight 2019 Spotify playlist, including 'Addicted' and more releases by ICMP students/alumni.
