On Monday night, students were treated to an amazing masterclass by Grammy award-winning drummer and drum alumnus Luke Patterson, from the electronic dance band Clean Bandit.
Luke’s focus for the masterclass was drumming technology, and how this technology was transforming the way drummers were performing, both live and in the studio. He discussed how products like the Roland SPD-SX Drum pads have changed how he thinks about performance and the amount of flexibility that this technology gives to drummers. We'd like to thank Luke for giving his insight into using electronics and technology with drum performance, but also to share his experience after graduating from the ICMP.
