Stormzy bassist and live session musician Levi Yarde is to host a series of online 'In Conversation' events as part of our EQ series.
The EQ events were set up earlier in 2020 to champion and empower equality across all areas of the music industry.
The 'In Conversation' series will see Levi speak to musicians and performers he’s connected with on his musical journey so far.
Levi began working as a session musician at the age 17 while still at college. He is now a touring player, working with some of the UK’s best artists including the likes of Stormzy (including the grime artist’s legendary Glastonbury performance), Emeli Sande, Dave, Stefflon Don and many more.
Previous guests in the series include Ricci Riccardi, musical director for the Spice Girls.
The next two events in the series will see Levi talk with Stormzy’s drummer Matty Brown and Iziah Yarde.
Matty Brown | Monday 13th July | 7pm
Matty plays drums alongside Levi in Stormzy’s live band so will discuss his performance at the BRIT Awards in 2020 as well as how he’s landed top gigs with the likes of Plan B, Rita Ora, Crystal Fighters and many more.
Iziah Yarde | Monday 27th July | 7pm
Iziah is Levi’s brother and has made a name for himself as a much in-demand keyboardist, musical director and programmer. His CV includes work with the likes of Lizzo, Little Simz and Gabrielle.
