ICMP was delighted to welcome 30 students from our Italian partner schools for the latest London Music Weekend.

Students were joined by four tutors from their schools including The Hub Creative (Trissino), Grooveland (Reggio Emilia), Associazione Toti dal Monte (Treviso) and Musicavanguardia (Torino).

The weekend began on Thursday with a masterclass with Tutor Dilys Uwagaboe who records under the artist name of Eckoes

Dilys played original music material and shared her experiences of being an independent artist with the students.

Friday saw a masterclass with singer songwriter Gavin Holligan where he played his own music and invited students to join him on stage.

Later that afternoon the Queen's Park studios featured more masterclasses in guitar, keys, bass, drums, and vocals with Ace (Skunk Anansie) and Xantone Blacq (Amy Winehouse) alongside ICMP alumni Conor Reilly, Taylor Harvey, Dylan Youles and Andriah Arrindell.

The Saturday was full of Live Performance Workshops focusing on technique and skills ahead of the evening where participants gave a live show alongside their tutors.

Ace, Head of Industry Partnerships and Business Development, said:

We've enjoyed another action-packed and music-filled weekend with our Italian partner school students - all had fantastic experiences with excellent masterclasses and great tutor involvement."

"ICMP has always supported young players to learn and play music collaboratively. We hope they made some great memories and even maybe return as a student one day!"

Well done to all the students who visited us!
