ICMP tutors led classes and shared musical knowledge and expertise with students at the International Partners Summer Music Experience in Italy.

Running from 1st-6th July, students from our Australian partner school Vocal Art Studios (VAS) visited Italy, spending time at L’Accademia in Parma and at the Hub Academy in Trissino.

Xan Blacq, renowned keyboard player and ICMP vocals tutor and guitar tutor and ICMP co-founder Pete Whittard led sessions on song arrangements and performed live with participating students.

Luca Pellizzaro, Hub Academy founder, said:

The students from VAS had a great time working with Xan and Pete, enjoying a unique experience and learning how to layer vocals and arrange songs. They performed at the local pub and it was a great night for us all to share the stage with them both.”

Liz Tripodi from VAS said: "Everything at the event was really fantastic. L’Accademia went to so much effort, the concert was great and Lelio and Nicola just a joy to work with. The show Luca organised in Vicenza was great, and he also ended up organising some recording time and a music video for us too.

"I cannot speak highly enough of Xan and Pete. They were just exceptional and all the students, the parents, teachers and I are so grateful for everything they did."

Lelio Padovani and Nicola Denti from L’Accademia said:

"We had a great time last week with Pete and Xan and our guests from VAS! Pete and Xan are amazing tutors and all students responded to them with enthusiasm. We are hoping to repeat the Summer Experience with even more partner schools in the future."

Bruno Lopes, ICMP’s International Recruitment and Partnerships Manager, added:

The International Partners Summer Music Experience came up as a way to unite students and tutors from different countries (UK, Australia and Italy) creating, performing and networking over a week full of music in Italy."

"It was also a great experience for the parents, of the Italian students who study at the host schools, and the ones who travelled from Australia with the group of students from Vocal Art Studios."

ICMP's network of international partners has seen ICMP students visit schools across Europe to perform while we also hosted the Travel Tunes Live Showcase earlier in the year.
