ICMP students enjoyed an exclusive opportunity to perform for the BBC’s Head of Music Television as part of a new partnership with the MetFilm School London.

Two ICMP Songwriting students, Richard Fairlie and Laura Goldthorp, were invited to the institution for the inaugural MetFilm School Music Mixer.

The pair performed for the school's students as part of a masterclass with Mark Cooper, Head of Music Television at the BBC and one of the curators of the broadcaster's hit show 'Later... with Jools Holland'

They also enjoyed the opportunity to network with MetFilm students, many of whom are studying how to produce high-quality video content. The event is one of a number of opportunities ICMP offers to students to help them further their networks, meet potential collaborators and build relationships to aid their music and career.

Commenting on the event, Laura said:

It was so interesting to hear from David Cooper about how shows like Jools Holland and festivals like Glastonbury are curated. It was exciting to hear about the opportunities that new acts have had to share stages with household names such as Paul McCartney and Kanye West."

David Howell, MetFilm School London Chief Executive, said:

Mark Cooper, MetFilm School staff and students were all very impressed by the performances from Richard and Laura. We're looking forward to continuing this exciting new partnership with ICMP and offering students from both Schools the chance to collaborate whether that be on films, music videos, soundtracks or music syncs."
