ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 3RD SEPTEMBER
'YOU MAKE ME BELIEVE' BY GRACE KIM
It's that time of the week again and we are extremely happy to share the latest release by ICMP's Masters in Popular Music Performance alumna Grace Kim.
Grace is not new on our radar; supported by ICMP's Career and Industry team, she was one of the talented artists who received support from our Accelerator Fund (previously known as Dyne Road Development Fund). Thanks to the funding, she was able to release her new single, 'You Make Me Believe'.
The song, she said, is "to appreciate all the people around me including family, all my band members, fans, and friends who supported me.
It is about the gratitude towards everyone who believed in me and made me believe in myself, when even I don’t believe in it. Ultimately talking about general love and appreciation to everyone.”
Grace and her band play a combination of soul, jazz, gospel and hip hop. Urban Dubz defined it as 'modern soul music with a retro feel to it'. You can hear Erykah Badu, Esperanza Spalding, Hiatus Kaiyote, Dwele, Maxwell, Incognito, and even Jamiroquai in it. The video for 'You Make Me Believe' sees a professional dancer, Haz Evans, moving in her own unique way to the song. Check it out here:
