Congratulations to ICMP MA Songwriting alumnus and tutor SATCH on the release of his debut album, 'Present in the Post'

The album follows a string of singles and remixes released during 2022 and 2023, including tracks including 'Springsteen', 'Jet Lag' and 'Hold Your Own'.

'Present in the Post' is a concept record charting Joshua 'SATCH' Satchell’s journey of transition and takes inspiration from a huge range of artists and musical styles, including early John Mayer to Lauryn Hill, Nashville songwriters to nineties r'n'b harmonies.

Commenting on the record, SATCH said:

The message from this album is one of empowerment. I went from being 'present in' and dreaming of my post-transition future, to making that post-transition future my present reality. And the catalyst for that was the decision to be myself."

"The album was recorded at three different London studios in Tileyard, Queens Park and West Hampstead with producer Itamar Lapidot. We'd been introduced through a mutual co-writer in Nashville, who asked me to 'be his friend' when he moved to London!"

"I'm glad I did - the arrangement and production on these albums came from three friends (with longtime collaborator and ICMP alumnus Will Nash in tow) taking great care over these stories being reflected as authentically as possible in the music."

SATCH has seen performances across notable stages such as Glastonbury, Reeperbahn, The Great Escape, London Pride, Brighton Pride, Queer Spirit Festival and Milton Keynes Pride all backed by a formidable band.
