ICMP’s prestigious Songwriters’ Circle event, which has seen students perform alongside many top music industry talents, will be marking its 10th anniversary in this academic year.

Launched in 2013/14, the event originally started in the top room of nearby pub, The North London Tavern, and has been since hosted at various venues across London.

Not only does it offer students across all courses exclusive performance opportunities to play alongside some of popular music’s most respected and celebrated songwriters but gives attendees the chance to learn the stories behind the music in an intimate setting.

Commenting, Sophie Daniels, ICMP’s Head of Songwriting, said:

What a wonderful night last night at ICMP Songwriters' Circle at what was the launch of our 10th year running this event!"

"As ever, the tutor showcase was full of brilliant songs and performances and, as ever, my thanks to our tutors - including Shane Beale, Lucy Bernstein, Angela Blacklaw, Jonathan Whiskerd, SATCH, James Rees, Luke Toms and many more."

"A special mention to new tutor Joel Baker who wowed everyone with his songs and a massive warm welcome to all new students for the new academic year."

Many prestigious talents from across the industry have shared their songs and stories within ICMP’s Songwriters' Circle.

Among them have been Xtra Mile Recording artist Frank Turner, Bruno Major and ICMP alumna, Elena Tonra, from the band Daughter
