Leading music supervisor Abi Leland, responsible for selecting music for the John Lewis Xmas ad and numerous hit TV series and films, was the latest guest on ICMP’s new The Interview Series podcast.

She’s the first leading music industry professional to feature and share her advice.

The podcast series sees ICMP’s Lara Magnelli quiz numerous leading musicians, music business experts and more share their insights and advice during interviews recorded during the first lockdown.

Leland music credits including providing music for Netflix hit, 'Top Boy', high profile ads for John Lewis, Lloyds and Hovis as well as for feature films including 'Touching the Void' and 'The Last King of Scotland'.

Commenting, Lara said:

Abi was very candid about her job and was very open to providing great practical advice to students, especially considering she's probably the best in the business!"

In the interview, Abi talks about how she started in the business, the responsibilities she faces as a music supervisor and the difference between working for a film and TV show as opposed to a big brand.

She also provides more practical advice to people looking to pursue the same career, including how to approach opportunities and how to maximise these when they happen.
