We are delighted to announce we have recently appointed Dave Roberts and James Brister to expand on our careers services department ‘the Hub’.

Dave is the owner and founder of club and college marketing company Wild Promotions and is currently working on acts as diverse as London Grammar, Chase & Status, Royal Blood, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Ella Eyre, East India Youth and Meridian Dan. He was previously General Manager at Sony-funded Nude Records and has a wealth of experience in marketing, artist management and A&R, including signing The Stone Roses to FM Revolver Records.

James is an experienced and well-connected artist manager. He has experience in developing artists and musicians, with his acts being play listed on national radio, touring the UK, Australia, mainland Europe and China, as well as facilitating endorsements and partnerships with major International brands.

Dave and James will contribute their vast experience and extensive range of connections to the already impressive team that develops career opportunities for current and graduating Institute students, either as musicians, performers or engaged in roles in the wider music industry. We have been continually investing in this key area of our operations, increasing industry connectivity, diversifying the range of support services available to Institute students and graduates and providing a dedicated artist development service. Uniquely, all members of ‘the Hub’ both work at the Institute and are active in the music industry, ensuring that the team is constantly up to date with new contacts and opportunities.

This team also includes Chris Parles who was previously Senior A&R manager at major labels including Virgin EMI, Universal Records and Sony Music, heading up the A&R department for Fontana/Mercury Records and Brightside Records/Sony. Currently, Chris delivers corporate management and executive training courses for Universal Music Group, Sony Electronics, eBay, Telefonica and EA Games whilst writing educational content for the BPI.
