ICMP’s Pete Whittard visited our partner schools in Northern Italy as part of his Keith Richards’ Guitar Class and Rolling Stones Live Performance Class.

Pete visited ICMP partner schools X4M, L'Accademia and Altramusica to meet with students and tutors.

In the guitar sessions, Pete talked through Keith’s approach, tunings, techniques and taught some of his most famous musical examples.

Bruno Lopes, International Recruitment & Partnerships Manager, said:

The students had the opportunity to explore Keith's use of tunings, capos, voicings and ultimately understanding how they could apply them in their own music. The workshops finished with the Rolling Stones Live Performance Class, where students had the chance to jump on stage to work on and play two classic Rolling Stone songs: 'Sympathy for the Devil' and 'Brown Sugar'."

X4M student Andrea Malgaroli said:

We played two Rolling Stones songs guided by Pete's technical and stylistic suggestions. Although, the workshop could have seemed mainly for guitarists, it was very useful for bass players and drummers (I’m one of them!) too. It was a great experience!"

ICMP would like to thank our partner schools  for their hospitality and the great level of engagement from their students and tutors.
