ICMP students Joe Devine (MMus in Popular Music Performance), Daniel Said (MMus) and Leire Gotxi Angel (Masters in Songwriting) recently visited our partner school the Vienna Music Institute for a weekend of performance and learning opportunities.

The students were warmly welcomed at the VMI, enjoying a soundpainting workshop with lecturer Samu Gryllus and student Magdalena Mueller-Hauszner.

They also took part in a songwriting/co-writing workshop with lecturer Féderico Pérez Hernández before enjoying two nights of live music, performance and collaboration at the Schwarzberg music venue.

Commenting on the trip, Leire said:

Vienna was one best experiences I've ever had. We were very grateful for the chance to represent ICMP. Vienna was amazing, but the company was even better. We had fun, enjoyed being on stage and met some incredibly talented musicians from Holland, Germany, Italy and Vienna. We came back to London feeling completely satisfied."

Bruno Lopes, ICMP's International Recruitment Manager, said:

"Five acts from music schools in Europe met in Vienna for the Travel Tunes- International Music Festival hosted by our partners VMI. The VMI provided seminars and workshops for the travelling students who participated with the highlight beng the two nights of live music at the Schwarzberg club."

The VMI is just one of many international partners ICMP works with, with its network of educational bodies including schools located in places as far flung as South Korea and California.

These collaborations help create numerous opportunities for many of our students and graduates when it comes to forging their own connections and developing their music.
