With so much amazing success, it’s hard to keep track of ICMP student and alumni achievements.
So to help, our team at The Hub is choosing a track each week from a selected ICMP artist or band from their network. Any artist who comes under the #ICMPSpotlight is one already attracting industry attention and starting to make some serious waves with music lovers and critics alike. Get in touch with The Hub via thehub@icmp.ac.uk to tip them off about any success stories you think we need to know about...
ICMP SPOTLIGHT: 12th December
'gravity’ - Defences
Defences are an alternative metal outfit featuring Ian Harrington, guitar alumni, Freddie Draper BMus alum and tutor, as well as Kyle Parke, drums alumni.
Following the release of their debut EP, ‘Stitches in Sanity’ in early 2014, the group began to grow a following through playing local London venues. Their first single, 'Grow' received extensive radio play on stations such as BBC Radio 1 and Kerrang! Radio and the band has played at leading venues across the capital and beyond including support slots with As Lions and Jack The Envious.
They recently released their debut album ‘With Might and Main’ which was mixed by Jeff Juliano (Twenty One Pilots, PVRIS) and mastered by Tim Debney (Razorlight, Iron Maiden).
The band were recently joined by ICMP alumnus and tutor, Freddie Draper, as bassist and vocalist and this track is taken from their debut LP.
Visit defencesofficial.com for more information and catch them live at Create to Inspire at The Carnival Arts Centre in Luton on 15th December.
