Congratulations to our songwriting alumna Maeve for winning support from PRS Foundation’s prestigious Momentum Music Fund.

Maeve was among the latest16 artists, including Blue Lab Beats and Nubya Garcia, to receive backing from the initiative. All were selected by a network of industry experts.

Commenting on the award, Maeve said:

I’m so grateful for the PRS Foundation for awarding me the Momentum Music Fund. As a new independent artist getting backing like this is so helpful and will let me make more music and start the next stage of my campaign."

The funds will mainly be put towards recording costs, live shows and organising a tour.

Vanessa Reed, PRS Foundation CEO, said: “Congratulations to the 16 talented artists in this latest round of our much needed and ground-breaking Momentum Music Fund. I’m delighted that we’re able to support so many distinctive artists at vital tipping points in their careers from so many different UK regions. I look forward to seeing the impact of the fund’s growing remit in the coming months and years.”

Managed by PRS Foundation, the Momentum Music fund awards grants of £5,000-£15,000 using funds from PRS Foundation, PPL, Creative Scotland, Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government.

Maeve will be one of the artists performing at the AWAL Lounge at the Introducing Live Festival taking place in November.
