ICMP is delighted to partner with the Young Songwriter 2023 competition to support and empower the next generation of songwriters, artists and producers.

The competition is a brilliant opportunity for all music creators aged under 19 to showcase their music to a judging panel of leading music industry experts alongside winning state-of-the-art equipment to enhance their musical ideas.

According to organisers, the Song Academy, the judging panel includes Fraser T Smith, Plested, Amy Wadge, Jimmy Napes and Calum Scott alongside members of ICMP’s Songwriting Faculty

Prizes up for grabs include a Yamaha instrument worth up to £1,000, a home studio set-up, a recording studio session with a top producer and the chance to perform at The Young Songwriter 2023 showcase.

Sophie Daniels, ICMP’s Head of Songwriting, said:

The competition is a fantastic opportunity for young artists and creatives to elevate their art and showcase their music to the wider world. I’m looking forward to hearing the submissions!"

Fraser T Smith, songwriter, producer and ICMP alumnus, said: "With so much going on in the world, it’s never been more vital for young people to be able to channel their energy and emotions into something positive, which is what The Young Songwriter competition encourages and facilitates through songwriting. Every young person has something to say, a story to tell, or a message to share – that’s why Song Academy is so important to our community."

Entries are now open until 31st March 2023.
