Here at ICMP, we’re beyond excited that spring has arrived and summer is on its way, because that means it’s time to announce some exciting plans we have for over the summer break. Starting in July, ICMP London will be hosting two amazing Summer Schools – one focusing on Songwriting and the other on Performance!

Both lasting for five days at ICMP’s campus in London’s Kilburn, our music Performance Summer School starts on Monday 24th July while our Songwriting Summer School runs from Monday 31st July.

Performance Summer School

Open to bassists, drummers, guitarists and vocalists - It's a great opportunity to improve your musical techniques, explore your creativity, hone your performance skills and hang out over the summer holidays with other like-minded musicians. You can be at any ability to join us, although we do suggest you have at least six months’ playing experience as you’ll need to be able to perform a song as part of a band from the offset. During your time with us, you’ll perform across many different musical styles, including funk, soul, blues and rock, and on the fifth day you’ll participate in a special performance showcasing the bands formed on the course in all their glory.

Songwriting Summer School

Open to anyone with a passion for songwriting and is the next step for aspiring songwriters who want to study the art of songwriting, develop their songs and learn to perform confidently. The sessions will be delivered by ICMP’s team of expert Songwriting tutors, and each day you’ll work with a band to get the songs you’ve written ready for a grand performance on the Friday.

Whether you’re a songwriter or performer, regardless of which summer school you choose you’ll also get to interact with some very special music industry guests during your time with us who’ll be able to offer you encouragement and constructive feedback on your talents.

The Summer Schools are just £299 to attend, which includes five days of course tuition and a student materials pack, or £550 if you’re from outside of London and would like accommodation included at The Stay Club in Willesden.
